The Cross-Country Journey | Roadtripping in China | KAILU Ep 2 | Sustainability Documentary China

In this episode, we are still traveling across the country to reach Sichuan province, where I will meet the first changemakers. It's an uncertain time with travel because COVID-19 cases are popping up in random places, so it's really important not to get stuck somewhere (which could put me back for a couple of weeks).

On this trip, I passed through Anhui province (Mulihong village), Jiujiang City, a village in Wuyuan, and the Wuhan countryside. I am amazed by how warmly we (K & I) are received everywhere.

Quickly, I realized that it was impossible to plan ahead for over 48 hours. Everything keeps changing. People show us around and guide us to new places on our path. Some things also don't go according to plan or fail, but we keep moving forward.

So we go day by day. We're (forced) into the present moment, and it feels good. Even though the future is so uncertain. Thanks for journeying with us :-)

What can you expect?

A documentary about my journey across China, meeting the changemakers who bring positive change to their communities through sustainable practices.

In the first episode, you follow the journey from the very beginning ... In 2020, I had been running my own little company in sustainability in the city of Shanghai for 5 years, and it all came crumbling down by the end of the year. Picking the pieces back up, I ask myself two important questions: Who am I? What do I want to do? Together with my friends, and especially my friend Gaultier Letourneau-Ross, who is an independent producer, consultant, and advisor in the entertainment industry, we slowly built this old dream of mine. And the answers brought me on this journey. In July 2021, I packed my belongings in a storage space, rented an electric car, and left Shanghai to meet the people who inspired me outside of the city walls.
